The Department of Neurology at the Yale School of Medicine seeks to hire a Neurohospitalist at the rank of Assistant Professor to complement our inpatient services at Westerly Rhode Island Hospital. Rank will be based on education and experience.
Neurohospitalists evaluate and treat the whole spectrum of neurological disorders in the emergency department, the general medical and surgical floors, and the medical and surgical intensive care units. We anticipate faculty applicants to be dedicated to excellence in patient care and educating the next generation of subspecialty experts. The position offers applicants an exciting opportunity for individual programmatic development and goal discovery across varied clinical or academic interests within our department.
Candidates must have an MD or equivalent degree, be board certified/ board eligible in Neurology and must be eligible for medical licensure in the State of Connecticut.
The full-time neurohospitalist position includes 24 weeks (Monday – Sunday) on the inpatient consultation service. Schedule modifications (combination of 5- and 7-day work weeks; combination of inpatient service and ambulatory general or subspecialty practice) may be possible based on the candidate’s interest.
The neurohospitalist will join the ladder faculty at Yale School of Medicine and a team of general and subspecialty-trained neurologists providing advanced neurologic care using a patient-centered multidisciplinary approach across the state of Connecticut and in Rhode Island. We provide a highly collaborative, supportive, and mentored environment that promotes specialists to pursue career growth within their specific area of interest. The clinical team reviews its experience and discusses challenging cases in weekly conferences and seminars and refines its approach through shared quality and safety endeavors.
