Weekend-Only Gastroenterology Locums Assignment - Virginia

Practice Setting

• Medical Setting: Mix of Inpatient & Outpatient.
• Focus on Adult patient ages.
• On-call for both hospital and clinic patients.

Schedule

• Shift-Based Coverage: 24-hour call blocks.
• Coverage runs from Friday evening to Monday morning (7 AM).

Procedures and Cases

• ERCP is a required core competency for this locums assignment.
• EUS preferred and Insertion/Management of Sengstaken/Blakemore Tube are part of the required procedures.
• Cases include Colonoscopy, Upper GI Endoscopy, and Liver Biopsy.
• Types of Cases: Esophageal Dilatation/Manometry, Small Bowel Biopsy, and Sigmoidoscopy.

Requirements

• Profession: Physician - Gastroenterology.
• Board Certification: Must be Board Certified in Gastroenterology.
• Required to possess a Virginia State Licensure.
• Case Log: Must include documentation of ERCP experience.

Credentialing Requirements

• Credentialing Timeframe is approximately 90 days.
• Immediate need requires a Physician who currently holds a Virginia license.
