Inpatient GI - Flexible Monthly Block Coverage in Massachusetts

Practice Setting

• Inpatient coverage at an adult acute care facility.
• Handle Floor, Emergency Department (ED), and Intensive Care Unit (ICU) consults.
• Onsite Lab and X-Ray support available.

Schedule

• Block scheduling available: Commit to only 7 shifts (1 week) per month.
• 24-Hour Call is required during your weekly assignment block.
• Call structure is approximately 1:4 with coverage from Friday 4pm to Friday 4pm.
• Carry Beeper overnight for emergent needs.

Procedures and Cases

• General Gastroenterology procedures are required.
• Procedures include Esophageal Dilatation/Manometry and Interpretation.
• Perform Small Bowel Biopsy, Sigmoidoscopy, Colonoscopy, and Lower GI Endoscopy.
• Required to perform Liver Biopsy.

Requirements

• Must be a Board Certified or Board Eligible Gastroenterology Physician.
• Active Massachusetts State Medical License is required.
• Must hold a Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.

Credentialing Requirements

• Anticipate an approximately 60-day credentialing timeframe.
