Requirements
1+ years of experience required. Experience with endoscopic vein harvesting is required. Sorry new grads! Temecula and Palm Springs is far enough from our sister programs that the candidate must be able to independently EVH proficiently. For any other case that requires senior level support, we always arrange for support and coverage!
- Regular work hours are Monday through Friday: OR, some floor coverage dependent on vacation coverage, and post op clinic 1 day a week. Duties vary daily but can include 1st/2nd assistant for all adult cardiac surgical procedures, wound closures, suturing, line placement, balloon and chest tube insertion/removal and management of CVICU and floor. Navigator covers the floor so split is generally 80% OR>15% ICU for post op management >5% clinic.
- Weekend calls are balanced over a calendar year, split between OR coverage OR rounding. Ex: you have stuff to do in January or if you have kids with specific times off from school, team adjusts the weekends based requests and balance the total weekends covered to meet needs. Not trying to kill off our team, here for a good time.
