JOB PURPOSE: The Piedmont Office of Graduate Medical Education is currently soliciting applications to fill the role of associate program director for the Piedmont Atlanta Hospital Internal Medicine Residency Program . This position provides an excellent opportunity for a Piedmont IMS physician who is enthusiastic about education, clinical care, and a leadership role in the development of the new residency program at Piedmont Atlanta.
The associate program director will work under the direction of residency program director and system chief of GME Dr. Karen Law and system GME director Jacob Barry, MPH, alongside the growing residency leadership team. Together, this group will guide the administrative, clinical, and educational oversight for the residency program, including teaching, faculty development, resident recruitment and selection, resident evaluation and promotion. The associate program director must assist with maintaining an educational environment conducive to educating residents in each of the ACGME competency areas and in accordance with Piedmont Healthcare policies and procedures.In addition to administrative and organizational assistance, partial full-time equivalency (FTE) of salary support will be provided to the associate program director.The associate program director must maintain clinical practice in hospital medicine.
MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED:
MD/DO from an accredited medical school
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED :
Experience with medical education and/or administrative leadership is preferred.
MINIMUM LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION REQUIRED BY LAW :
MD - License to practice medicine in the state of Georgia or the ability to obtain a full, unrestricted license in Georgia
DO - License to practice medicine in the state of Georgia or the ability to obtain a full, unrestricted license in Georgia
Current ABMS or ABOMS Certification in Internal Medicine
Any other qualifications as specified by the specialty-specific program requirements, RRC, or accrediting body
