Description
The University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, Gastrointestinal Rehabilitation and Transplant Center, is seeking applicants for a position in the Division of Transplant Surgery at the rank of Assistant Professor in the non-tenure stream. The successful candidate will provide advanced surgical care for patients with complex gastrointestinal disease, with a focus on reoperative abdominal surgery, complex bowel pathology, intestinal failure–related conditions, and gastrointestinal reconstruction. This position supports a highacuity tertiary/quaternary referral practice and contributes to the continued growth of specialized GI surgical services within UPMC.
GIRTC is a nationally recognized program evaluating more than 400 patients annually for intestinal rehabilitation and performing approximately 300 surgeries per year. The program is uniquely dedicated to the comprehensive care of adult patients with intestinal failure and complex GI problems. This position supports the continued expansion of the program’s clinical services.
Requirements
We seek an outstanding candidate who has a demonstrated track record of clinical excellence. Applicants must be ABS eligible or certified. Preference will be given to candidates who have completed a fellowship. A commitment to teaching and advocacy is necessary.
In addition, candidates should have at minimum:
1) 2 years of experience post residency/fellowship
2) basic endoscopic knowledge/skills
