The Opportunity
The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Los Angeles General Medical Center is recruiting a Division Chief for Gynecologic Oncology. This is a rare opportunity for a mission-driven physician leader to shape the future of a well-established, high-volume division while directly impacting the lives of a high-risk, vulnerable patient population.
The Division Chief will provide clinical and administrative leadership joining a team of four gynecologic oncologists and three nurse practitioners. The Division Chief will also serve as a key academic leader within the residency and fellowship programs shared with USC, contributing to the training of the next generation of OB/GYN clinicians.
Clinical Practice
The successful candidate will maintain a full-scope gynecologic oncology practice, including:
Coordination of care for a high-volume, complex patient population
Complex open, minimally invasive, and robotic gynecologic oncology surgery
Administration and oversight of cancer-directed systemic therapy
Multidisciplinary tumor board participation
Leadership & Education
As Division Chief, the candidate will be expected to:
Provide strategic and operational leadership for the LAGMC Gynecologic Oncology Division
Recruit, develop, and retain division faculty and advanced practice providers
Serve as a clinical educator for OB/GYN residents (36) and gynecologic oncology fellows (3)
Collaborate with departmental and hospital leadership on quality, safety, and equity initiatives
Collaborate with researchers in clinical and observational trials

Requirements
Qualifications
MD or equivalent degree with fellowship training in Gynecologic Oncology
Board certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology (ABOG)
Active California medical license or eligibility to obtain one
Demonstrated experience in full-scope gynecologic oncology surgery, including robotic/MIS procedures
Prior leadership experience preferred
Prior educational experience preferred
Deep commitment to caring for underserved, safety-net, and diverse patient populations
