Gastroenterology locums coverage in Illinois with a true outpatient mix, most days anchored in the GI lab with dedicated procedure blocks and no call. This is ongoing coverage near Chicago, requiring at least one full Monday through Friday week per month.

Practice Setting

• Outpatient clinic plus GI procedure lab coverage, inpatient procedures handled by GI hospitalist
• Adult and geriatric patient mix with mixed payer
• Clinic workflow supported by 6 full time and 2 part time ambulatory APPs, plus RN and CMA or MA
• Procedure team includes RN and surgical tech

Schedule

• Monday through Friday coverage, 8a to 5p with occasional 7:30a starts for MAC blocks
• Minimum commitment of one full Monday through Friday week each month, ongoing
• No call responsibilities
• Typical start after credentialing, payer enrollment, and health attestation completion

Cases and Procedures

• Outpatient colonoscopy and EGD, standard procedure blocks with predictable timing
• Mix of procedural sedation and dedicated MAC blocks, must be comfortable working with MAC anesthesia
• ERCP and EUS welcomed but not required
• Charting on Olympus scopes with ProVation reporting system

Requirements

• Must be an MD or DO
• BC or BE in Gastroenterology, BE within 5 years
• Active Illinois medical license plus active Illinois DEA and CSR
• ACLS, BLS, and moderate sedation credentials

Travel Accommodations

• Mileage and lodging for driving distance providers, flights considered when outside driving range
